Cambridge Wedding Photography - Laura and Trevor - Old Hall, Ely
I've known Laura for many years and it was lovely to see her get married to the man of her dreams - Trevor. It was even better to be asked to shoot the big occasion for them!
Getting there nice and early gave me the chance to take a wander around the grounds of The Old Hall, near Ely, and get some great 'setting the scene' shots. The weather was certainly giving the hint that this was going to be a fantastic day for a wedding!
The arrival of Laura and her gang of ladies kicked off the start of the bridal preparations in the main house. It was great to enjoy a few jokes with them all while shooting all the beautiful details and them getting ready. The prosecco was beginning to flow... I've also had the honour to see Laura's two children, Eden and Isaac grow up over the years and it was lovely to see them both all dressed up ready to be a big part of the day.
The appearance of the gleaming white VW Golf adorned with the "nickname" number plate spelling out "Trigger" (I believe to be a reference to the one and only great character from Only Fools and Horses) meant that Trevor had arrived. While I stayed with the bride, my assistant Natasha (www.natasha-biggs.co.uk) took some time out with the boys while they put the final touches together with their outfits.
With everyone ready and the guests settled in, it was time for Laura and her dad to take the short walk down the stairs into the room giving Trevor the chance to see his beautiful bride for the first time today. With the rings being bought up by Isaac during the ceremony and now firmly on the fingers it wasn't long before Laura and Trevor were now husband and wife.
Old Hall would now play host to a lovely drinks reception on the back patio with the fantastic view of Ely Cathedral off to the not-too-far distance. After the group shots I whisked them both off for quick tour of the grounds for some lasting-memory couple shots.
The evening was then thoroughly enjoyed beginning with a really great meal, three hilarious speeches from Laura's father, Trevor and the two best men. It was then time for Laura and Trevor's first dance to Ed Sheeran followed by lots of dancing from everyone else while the brilliant band Roger Roger played some awesome music!
My day's very enjoyable work was completed with some fun lighting shots outside in the dark and thanks so much to the happy couple for braving the cold for those!
I wish Laura and Trevor all the happiness in the world in their future together!
I hope you enjoy viewing some shots from the day below...
