Cambridge Wedding Photography - Wilobe Farm Barn - Kirsty and Chris
My last wedding of this year was that of the fabulous couple Kirsty and Chris (and of course Rosie the dog). We had such a great time on their engagement shoot earlier in the year - in fact so much so that a planned 2 hour session turned in to a brilliant 3 hour shoot as we were chatting so much!
I started the big day at their house in St Ives nice and early in the morning - a brilliant bridal prep location as Kirsty does like to keep a tidy house - so many beautiful details around to shoot and so clearly a house of a couple very much in love! After grabbing some images of all the details - the awesome dress, the shoes and the jewellery - I settled in downstairs to capture Kirsty and girls getting their hair and make up done.
Once I had a selection of bridal and family portraits in the garden, I headed off to St Ives Parish Church to see how the boys were getting on. My trusty assistant Natasha had been looking after them earlier in the day - keeping them under control! The ceremony was fantastic with so much emotion, fun and laughs throughout. I’ve never shot a wedding before where the vicar takes time out to feed the dog - of course Rosie was hungry!
After the ceremony, everyone made their way over to the reception venue - Wilobe Farm Barn near Pidley - to begin the rest of the day starting off with a bit of bubbly. Once we had shot a few formal groups of the family and friends, Natasha and I took a walk with Kirsty and Chris to grab some bride and groom images around the beautiful lake.
The meal was followed by some brilliant speeches from the father of the bride, Chris and then the best man - all 3 got some great laughs from the whole room! The day ended for us with the cutting of the cake followed by the first dance and some excellent dance floor action!
